Finally, a docking station was installed.
It is very difficult to understand the role, the need, and how to choose the right equipment...!
This time we introduced
Conclusions,This model is not for everyone, and it is not over-specified or dodgy for me at the moment.
Just,There's no doubt that the introduction of the new system has made it better, and it sticks for those who stick with it.It is such an item.
In this article, we will honestly summarize how the BenQ DP1310 docking station was introduced, its features, advantages and disadvantages.

Role and necessity of docking station
What is a docking station?
Multiple ports,PC and one cable.A device that enables connection to multiple terminals simultaneously, such as monitors, speakers, and webcams.
- Why not a USB hub?
- Anker¥7,190 (As of 2025/06/17 09:13 | According to Amazon)
Potipo chip
Some functions, such as reading SD cards and output via HDMI, can be complemented.
However, the docking station is by far superior in stability and scalability, as power is supplied via a separate adapter.
If the operation is just for a little use on the go, it can be substituted.
- Some monitors with hub functionality...
- Dell
Potipo chip
My favorite Dell monitor also has a hub function.
To the extent that it can be completed here, the desk fits more smartly, but there are limitations.
BenQ DP1310|How it was introduced

The main reason we were approached was that we were considering installing a docking station when our DELL monitor with hub function reached its limits.
The speakers, display light, and webcam were connected to a Dell monitor, which was just barely enough.
However, the connection of SD cards and SSDs was troublesome, and the state was very inefficient for exchanging video data...
Keep your desk as simple as possible."
The concept of the docking station was a stumbling block to the introduction of the docking station.
is,Couldn't we make it less complicated than we thought and keep what we have and make it better? So we decided to introduce it.

BenQ DP1310|Functions & Features
Easy Smart: Switch between two terminals with a single touch

BenQ DP1310 The green button is also an accent of the main unit design.
With a single touch, the main and sub devices of the input terminal can be instantly switched.
Private PCs and work PCs
Private PCs and game consoles

Looking at the role alone, it is possible to install a relatively inexpensive switching system later with such a selector.
However, there are a few aspects such as limited image quality (refresh rate) and desk clutter.
Rare option: up to 3 screens at 4K 60Hz simultaneously

There are many docking stations and hubs that support dual displays, but those that can achieve 3 screens at 4K/60Hz are rare.
It is especially designed for gamers who are particular about image quality and refresh rate.
Furthermore, in HDMI 2.1 (= sub-device) video output,It supports resolutions such as 4K/120Hz and 8K/60Hz.
Three screens even on a MacBook: DisplayLink included

What is DisplayLink?
Function to enable multiple screen display even on PCs with a limited number of displays connected.
For example, starting with my beloved M2 MacBook Air,Mac OS does not support multiple screen output other than mirroring.
So all three screens only show the same image!
This is because Mac OS does not support multi-stream transport (MST).
This is a powerful support function that enables multiple screen output even with these limitations.
BenQ DP1310|Feelings

BenQ DP1310is just a docking station with some pretty sharp features,I'm sure it's even more awesome when it's in its element. And it was definitely a waste of time for me to be a part of it now.
However, I felt that I was feeling bewildered. It smashed the limits of the desk and opened up a world of possibilities without sacrificing minimalism.
I don't switch devices that often, but gamers, for example, will love being able to switch back and forth seamlessly (whether it's good for their personal life or not is another story).
In the current environment, what is immediately helpful are the ports on the front.
Until now, we have managed to use the remaining one of the MacBook Air's two USB-C to connect an SSD, SD card slot, etc., but now these can be used simultaneously without fighting.
In addition, we appreciate the fact that it can also be used as a recharge for devices.
BenQ DP1310|Merits and Demerits
demerit
- I wanted an SD card reader.
I'm running a front USB-C to SD card slot, but I wanted it to be complete. - Current use of my application does not bring out my strengths.
Because of the single monitor and infrequent device switching - Fewer USB-C ports
I need one more on the front and one on the back. - Price somewhat expensive
Reasonable price for a group of people who are addicted to it.
Advantages
- Great design and product quality
Looks great on a desk. - One-touch switching is too smart.
Convenient to not have to pull it out and insert it every time. - Convenient ports on the front
What you can do increases all at once. - The possibilities for future desk environments have expanded dramatically.
Dual monitors, gaming, and other things I was interested in but couldn't do are now options.
BenQ DP1310
It is useful for switching between work and private PCs.
I use Type-C for work and Type-C to HDMI for private use. Before I purchased the sub-monitor, I had to reconnect the Type-C video, but now I am very happy because I only have to press one button and it is no longer a hassle.
Another good thing was that the docking station can be powered by a single Type-C cable, so there was no need to reconnect the power supply. The maximum PD of 100W was certainly fast. It made my desk area look cleaner and I feel better.
The images are perfect, and I don't feel uncomfortable at all.One concern was the heat. It had a heat sink, so I wondered how it could get that hot...? But when I put my hand on it every night after work, it was just a little warm, but not so warm that I could not touch it. I think that people who play games for a long time will not have to worry about the heat.
I'm not sure how to place it vertically or horizontally, but it seems to fit in either way because of its compactness.

I purchased this docking station to efficiently handle my Mac mini, Switch, and company-issued laptop at home. It is the first time for me to purchase such a docking station, but it is convenient to be able to expand and charge two displays with a single USB-C. The 100W power output allows for stable operation even when working under heavy load! And the unit is more compact than I thought it would be!
When I used to use USB hubs to extend the screen of Win notebooks and Macs, the screen would flicker, black out, or USB devices would fail to boot, so this is worth installing, even though it is a bit pricey!
I'm basically using a Mac mini and a switch, but I think the advantage is that I can freely combine it with other notebooks and so on.

As noted in the specifications, input from USB-C is limited to a maximum of 4K60Hz.
・Audio input from HDMI is not output from 3.5mm.
DisplayLink is a software to push the limit of the number of connected monitors with screen sharing. The color and contrast of the monitor to be displayed via DisplayLink will change.
When the USB-C input is switched while two or more monitors (DisplayLink) are in use, the connection is made via DisplayLink to a monitor other than the main monitor.
The monitor sometimes loses track of the input when switching between inputs. This especially happens when switching from HDMI to USB-C. The monitor recognizes the input after switching it several times. (This may be a compatibility issue with the monitor.)
The 3.5mm audio output is stressful because it makes a popping sound the moment the audio output voltage is applied from the standby state when the PC is not emitting any sound.<Conclusion

After about a week of use, I thought switching inputs on the main monitor was fine, right? After a week of use, I decided to switch inputs on the main monitor.
The docking station is also not cosmetically pleasing in terms of functionality, so how much value do you get out of DisplayLink and deca-button input switching? How much value can you get out of DisplayLink and the DecaButton input switching?
BenQ DP1310|Review Summary

- I want to operate multiple devices while smoothly switching between them.
- I want both a sophisticated desk area and a full range of ports.
- M1/M2 MacBook Air users who want dual or triple monitors

Not for everyone, but a rare option that stands out from the current lineup of docking stations.
We encourage you to try DP1310 if you have points of attraction to its strengths!
